The trial of 1MDB in New York court continues, with more details being shed to light.

In his latest testimony, Tim Leissner revealed that 2 former bankers of Goldman Sachs, including Leissner himself, had sought advice from a Feng Shui master back in 2016. The reason – how to handle a U.S. investigation into the 1MDB funds.

The decision started when the FBI served him with a subpoena in February 2016. Roger Ng, the other former banker and his wife, Lim suggested he consult a feng shui master who they trusted and asked if he would be in trouble for that.

“They felt that this would give me comfort and they wanted to show support,” Leissner added.

He added that he wanted to find out if he was a target of the US investigation into 1MDB and Goldman Sachs, a subject of the probe or merely a witness. Leissner also testified he personally transferred USD35 million in kickbacks to Roger.

In the meantime, Roger and his wife attended Leissner’s meeting with the feng shui master at a hotel in Hong Kong and in regards to what would eventually happen to Leissner, the Feng Shui master said,

“You would have issues with the authorities for 5 years but eventually, the problems would resolve by themselves.”

Leissner said the 3 of them made up a “cover story” following the meeting with the Feng Shui master. The made-up story involved Lim and Leissner’s former wife, Judy Chan, to justify the US$35 million in funds.

Additionally, Leisnerr also revealed that the Feng Shui master commented on his love life, where he had 2 secret marriages.

“I was also told that the women in my life would be a problem to me,” he said in the court.

Do you think the Feng Shui master’s word will eventually come true?
