While it is undeniable that students have a hard time learning with their online classes, we shouldn’t forget that teachers are struggling with online teaching as well. Having said that, these educators deserve to be shown respect as they are trying to make the most out of every online class for their students.

Izzati Ilyasa shared a video of her father’s struggle as a teacher on her TikTok account @izzatiilyasa96 . At the time of writing, the video has garnered over 30,000 likes.

In the video, Izzati showed how there were only 10 out of 30 students who had joined the morning class. However, the dedicated teacher didn’t give up on his students. Her father contacted each and every one of them so none of them would miss the quiz he was going to conduct that morning.

Unfortunately, he received less than favourable responses from his students. One of the students’ excuses was very much unacceptable.

In the video, it was shown that the teacher provided the quiz link in the class group on WhatsApp but none of them responded to his texts.

“The test will start from 8 to 9 only.”

“Please click the link I have provided to answer the mid-year test.”

“You may start now.”

“Where is everyone? No one has answered the test yet.”

“Can you join the test? Please respond.”

Another screenshot that appeared in the video showed a conversation between Izzati’s father and his student saying one of their classmates didn’t want to join the class just because he was lazy.

“Greetings Sir, Lann said he doesn’t want to join your class tomorrow. He said he was lazy.”

Still refusing to give up, the teacher made phone calls to his students in case they overslept, but only two of them picked up.

These hardworking educators don’t deserve this kind of response for their effort.

Nonetheless, Izzati later updated the comment section saying the student who claimed he was lazy has apologized to her father for his attitude.

It doesn’t cost anything to treat our educators with respect. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comment section.
