Gone are the days that Malaysians envy our friends overseas for having the Instagram music feature that we have requested time and time again. Today (23 March), Facebook Malaysia has finally announced that it is bringing in Reels and Music to Instagram Stories in Malaysia.

The feature was first introduced in Brazil, followed by the US, UK, Japan, and Australia. At the beginning of December 2020, only Apple iOS users in Malaysia were able to utilize the feature while Android users took to Twitter to voice out their dissatisfaction.

Music can be added via the Music sticker, which is very different from finding it through the special tab on the right of your Instagram story.

You can browse through any songs that are popular at the moment or simply pick a specific one that you like by searching it up on the search bar.

Once selected you can crop-specific parts of the audio or even add in the lyrics when you post them on your Instagram story.

Malaysians can now enjoy both Reels and Music features via the Instagram app. However, if the feature is not visible to you, your app probably needs an update.
