In a day and age where children are easily exposed to illegal and inappropriate content online, parents must do everything they can to protect their young ones from coming across materials that are unsuitable for their digital consumption. But how do you check what your kids are looking at when they can easily find anything on the Internet without your knowledge?

Kids Apps

A Malaysian mother of two, who goes by the name of Syikin Sulaiman, recently shared how she monitors her children’s digital consumption by using an app called Google Family Link.

“Since I was introduced to this app, my kids have been making noise and asking why they can’t seem to download things? Why are their phones blocked?” penned the mother in a Facebook post.

“Yes, it’s my new job. The phones may be in their hands but Mother is in control.” Syikin said that by using this app, parents can control what their kids look at. They can even monitor how much time their children spend on their phones by enabling the auto-lock function.

“Five kids and five phones? No problem. Just use a different email each time….easy work for mothers.”

Since sharing this simple ‘hack’ on Facebook, Syikin’s post has garnered 15,000 shares with many parents tagging each other in the comments section. Looks like kids are going to have a hard time hiding what they see from their parents now!

We did a quick search and discovered that the Google Family Link is available on both the Google Play store and the Apple store, “Whether your children are younger or in their teens, the Family Link app lets you set digital ground rules remotely from your own device to help guide them as they learn, play, and explore online.”

What do you guys think? Would you download this app?
