MOH Announces Covid-19 Vaccination Will Be Free And Will Initially Target High-Risk Groups

Taking to Twitter, the Ministry of Health through @KKMPutrajaya shared that Malaysia is set to receive much-needed Covid-19 vaccination in the first quarter of 2021.

In its tweet, the Ministry of Health writes, “We will be receiving our Covid-19 vaccination supply in the first quarter of next year.”

“The vaccine will be free for the people and priority will be given to the high-risk group.”

“Before it is registered in Malaysia, MOH will ensure that the vaccine is safe, effective and of good quality.”

In the tweet, a corresponding poster was also attached to further explain the details with regards to the vaccination initiative.

Among the explanation given were:

  • The vaccine is not compulsory to be taken.
  • It will only be given to those who want it.
  • High-risk individuals are given priority.
  • Foreigners will be charged at an amount to be released by MOH.
  • Price may vary according to distributors.

They have also included the number of vaccinations that is made available according to the number of batches received which were:

  • First-quarter – one million units
  • Second-quarter – 1.7 million units
  • Third-quarter – 5.8 million units
  • Fourth-quarter – 4.3 million units

It was also mentioned that any additional costs have been taken into consideration.
