A total of 3,000 Malaysian volunteers will be involved in a phase-3 clinical study of the Covid-19 vaccine next month here in the country.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, as reported by Harian Metro, said the study to be started by the Ministry of Health was done through a Government-with-Government (G2G) initiative with China.
The vaccine to be tested was developed by the Institute of Medical Biology Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (IMBCAMS). According to him, the clinical study will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Covid-19 vaccine developed by the institute.
He also mentioned that the study, which is expected to start in December, is conducted by the local Clinical Studies Organization (CRO) and has been registered in the National Medical Research Register (NMRR).
Hopefully, the study goes well and we can start planning on distributing the vaccine to all Malaysians so that life can be back to normal.
