And in the news of water disruptions, Selangor was once again the victim of another round of water pollution last night. Are we even surprised at this point?

In a statement posted by their official Twitter account, the Selangor Water Management Board (LUAS) announced that odour pollution was detected at the inlet of the Rantau Panjang LRA with a reading of one TON (Threshold Odour Number) at 7pm last night.

Over the past year, water disruptions and water pollution has become extremely common especially in Selangor areas. Just last week, 1,279 areas in Klang Valley faced water disruptions after solvent-like odour pollution was detected at Sungai Selangor, and it’s only been a few days since a similar situation was averted at Sungai Kundang near Rawang.

Fortunately for residents though, the situation was handled with efficiency and the Rantau Panjang LRA resumed operations at 9:30pm last night after odour pollution dropped from one TON to zero, so nobody had to suffer for too long this time! LUAS has also stated that further investigation will be made to determine the cause of the pollution last night as well.

Once again, we thank LUAS and Air Selangor for dealing with the situation effectively and as quickly as possible! A scheduled disruption will also be happening on 24 November to prevent future unprompted disruptions like the one last night. Find out if your area will be affected here.
