Taiping Has Now Been Declared A Red Zone

The Perak Health Department has declared Taiping a red zone after 77 Covid-19 infections were detected in the district for the duration of 14 days.

Taking to Twitter, netizen @redzuanNewsMPB shared that the state health department placed Taiping in the red due to the current outbreak taking place at the Kamunting Prison.

“Yesterday alone (15/10/2020) of the 52 cases reported in Perak, 48 of them took place in Taiping.”

Becoming the only district in the state to be designated red, all 52 new cases have been isolated and are currently receiving treatment.

Contact tracing is also carried out at the moment.

Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced that a new Covid-19 cluster had been detected in Perak.
