In Himeji, Japan, there is a cat cafe, Nekobiyaka, which only keeps black cats and it’s the only cafe in the world to have this unique feature. It is widely known that throughout Japan, there are a lot of cat cafes but Nekobiyaka is built exclusively for the black furballs.

According to Oddity Central, Ms Yagi, who is the owner, came up with the idea to help these black cat find their forever homes. In Japan, black cats are not that popular for adoption and by opening this cafe, she hopes that the stigma against black cats can finally be broken and the cuties deserve the same amount of love.

Like any other businesses, Nekobiyaka was badly affected by the pandemic. Ms Yagi considered closing the cafe but thankfully, because of donations collected online, the cafe can still be operated and the black cats still have a place they can call home.
