Just when we thought things were getting better, a new cluster has been detected, named Cluster Bunga at Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. Health DG Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the cluster is isolated, involving workers on board a ship at the Port of Port Dickson.

The ship had a travel history from the Port of Singapore and all 34 crew members were tested and from that, four people were tested positive with Covid-19. Astro AWANI reported that from the four cases, two are Malaysians while the other two are non-Malaysians.

Thankfully, all four positive cases are asymptomatic and they were initially quarantined at a hotel in Selangor. Once they were confirmed positive, they were admitted into Hospital Sungai Buloh. This cluster will not pose a community transmission risk as it’s an imported and isolated cluster.

Besides the four positive cases, six crew members were tested negative while 24 people are still waiting for their test results. He said infection prevention and control measures such as disinfection and decontamination processes are being carried out on the ship while the cause of the infection is still under investigation.
