Not all heroes wear capes, and this is one of those moments when a netizen portrayed bravery worthy of all the attention it can get.

Taking to Twitter, netizen @zatinizam_ shared a story of discovering a poor kitty that became a victim of a hit-and-run. Unlike many others who would have given up hope on the kitty, she instead willed the kitty to live.

“A kitten was involved in an accident, but I did not know who it belonged to. At first, I thought that all hope was lost because it began to defecate.”

“My neighbours have also finished digging its grave. But upon finding that it was still breathing, I sent it to a clinic.”

“The doctor could do nothing at the time, in fear that the kitty may be suffering from internal bleeding. All they could do was give it painkillers.”

Upon advice to bring the kitty back for another checkup the next week, it was from then on the kitty managed to pull through the ordeal.

“Since coming back from the vet, the kitty did not move at all throughout the whole night.”

“In the morning as I was cleaning my house, I checked on the kitty once more and found that it was missing from its cage. I found it walking on its own to hide under the dining table. Such a strong kitty.”

Giving it egg yolks to eat, the kitty later became stronger, though it needed to be force-fed to ensure that its daily sustenance was met.

In a follow-up, the doctor said that Oyen (the kitty) had a major concussion to the head and because of the same trauma it had to the head, Oyen now has eyesight problems.

At the end of her thread, @zatinizam_ happily reports that Oyen can now drink milk!

Certainly a hero in our books, it is quite refreshing to know that a recent event involving animal abuse is NOT a trend and that there are those out there who still love and care animals just as much as they do for human beings.

We hope that Oyen will have a speedy recovery and will be able to live a long and full life.
