A Malaysian doctor working at the Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Dr Vishna Rasiah, has passed away because of the Covid-19 infection. As reported by the official website of the hospital, Dr Vishna, who was a consultant neonatologist, was respected all over the Midlands for his role as Clinical Lead for the regional Neonatal network. Sarah-Jane Marsh, Chief Executive, said,

“Vish was an amazing doctor, leader, colleague and friend passionate about the care of babies and their families. Losing him in such a cruel and unfair way will be too much to bear for many of us, in particular anyone involved in neonatal care, and of course his beautiful wife and daughter.”

Meanwhile, the hospital’s medical director, Dr Fiona Reynolds, said his contribution as a neonatal consultant will continue to be appreciated by the local community. The late Dr Vishna was also a very proud husband and loving father. The families in Malaysia and Trinidad are devastated by the news as he was such a loved individual by everyone.

Condolences to the family members as well as those who know Dr Vishna Rasiah. His contribution to the medical field will continue to be remembered and his memories cherished.
