The authorities are stricter now to make sure everyone abides the Movement Control Order. Currently, the fine for breaking the MCO is at RM1,000. This is to ensure no one thinks of breaking curfew because ultimately, the MCO is for our well-being. Our police and military are working day and night at roadblocks and patrols all for our safety, so the least we can do is to obey their orders and just STAY HOME!

These kids from Batu Pahat, Johor got the fright of their life when they were stopped by patrolling policemen for gathering and disobeying the MCO. Needless to say, the kids burst out in tears and begged the police to forgive them.

According to The Sun Daily, the children were all under the age of 12 and from an Orang Asli settlement at Kampung Minyak Beku, Johor. The police started to scold the kids and even threatened them that they would be arrested if they break the MCO again as they travelled quite some distance from their houses.

Now, this is where it gets sweet.

After enquiring why they left the house, one of the boys said that he had to sell his potato chips. The policemen then proceeded to buy his entire basket of potato chips!

After buying the products, the policemen again warned the kids to not break MCO and that the next time they do it, they will be arrested. Another touching moment was when the policemen told them to not stand under the hot sun when they were loading their products on the motorcycle.

Let us not forget that during the MCO there are people whose livelihood has been severely affected and doing whatever they can to survive. Kudos to the policemen for helping the kids out while also giving them a warning. We hope the kids learnt their lesson and not repeat such offences as the next time, they might get apprehended and the potato chips can’t save them that time.
