Perhaps one of the most commendable virtues that we can see in our major frontliners is the dedication that they have towards the work that they do, carrying out their duties diligently without complaint regardless of circumstance. This is especially true of medical officers and policemen who have to endure some pretty harsh conditions while working around the clock!

In the case of policemen manning roadblocks under the hot sun during the Movement Control Order, the physical toll of enduring the heat and the sun’s rays have no doubt taken a very much noticeable toll on their bodies, as this Facebook post goes to show.

While many of us get to sit at home and relax, or perhaps be in our cars (one person only) as we drive to grab groceries, authorities who are manning the mandatory road blocks simply do not have the pleasure of being insulated under a cool fan or air-conditioning while they work. And predictably, when you stand under the sun for long hours on end daily, that can wreak havoc to your skin.

Photos apparently show that some PDRM officers who have been stationed at MCO roadblocks now bear highly visible tan lines, with their faces noticeably darker than their foreheads, which are usually shielded to some extent by their hats.

The post goes on to remind Malaysians how our police officers continue to maintain order in the country, even with such blazing heat, before thanking them for their service to the country.

Given the sacrifices that our policemen make for our sake, we as Malaysians should do our part in abiding by the law, so that we may lessen the burden of our front-liners as much as we can!
