We have almost completed one month of the Movement Control Order (MCO) and we can slowly see a lot of businesses evolving to adapt to the current situation with the goal of helping the rakyat get their essential items conveniently while still adhering to the MCO requirements. This includes Tesco which has recently launched the ‘Order & Collect’ service.

Customers wanting to buy any essential items can now place their orders via WhatsApp and simply collect them at the nearest Tesco branch on the same day. A total of 53 Tesco branches nationwide are taking part in the campaign. Tesco CEO, Paul Richie explained, as quoted by Soya Cincau,

“At Tesco, we are working around the clock to help ensure families have access to the grocery and household items they need, especially more so now during the MCO. Customers will be able to more than halve their time shopping in our stores and maintain their social distancing.”

So to make your order, well, just follow these simple steps:

However, customers are reminded that each Tesco branch can only cater to the first 100 orders per day and you can only order a maximum of 25 items each time. Customers can place their orders via WhatsApp from 8am to 4pm daily and collect them by 6pm. For the full list of WhatsApp contact numbers for each Tesco brand and further details, kindly visit Tesco’s official website here.

So what are you waiting for? Take this opportunity so that you don’t have to waste time and risk yourself being exposed in public for so long. But as always, buy what you need and don’t hoard, ya?
