The haze in Malaysia has been cleared but it looks like it’s spreading to other nations, like Thailand!

The haze has now penetrated the airs of Bangkok as The Star has reported that air quality in the city is unhealthy. According to the Thailand Pollution Control Department (PCD), the unhealthy air has covered 14 areas of Bangkok and they are listed below:

  • Kanchanaphisek Rd Bang Khun Thian Bangkok
  • Rama IV Rd. Khet Pathum Wan Bangkok
  • Intarapitak Rd. Khet Thon Buri Bangkok
  • Lat Phrao Rd. Khet Wang Thonglang Bangkok
  • Din Daeng Rd. Khet Din Daeng Bangkok
  • Pubpla Khet Wang Thonglang Bangkok
  • Mueang Nakhon Pathom
  • Bang Krua Bang Kruai Nonthaburi
  • Bang Phut Pak Kret Nonthaburi
  • Khlong Nueng Khlong Luang Pathum Thani
  • Song Kanong Phra Pradaeng Samut Prakan
  • Pak Nam Meuang Samut Prakan
  • Om Noi Krathum Baen Samut Sakhon
  • Maha Chai Mueang Samut Sakhon

Take note, guys!

The PCD shared that “levels of 42-66 micrograms per cubic meter” were found in the airs of Bangkok. Not only that but some of the haze has spread to the heart of Bangkok as residents saw slight haze in Pathum Wan, Din Daeng and parts of Lat Phra road.

Following that, Thai prime minister Prayut Chan-o-cha ensured the Thai people that he has ordered government agencies to take the necessary measures to reduce the haze in Bangkok. On top of that, he has requested construction sites and industrial plants lessen their dust production for the time being. Prayut wrote on his Facebook page,

“I am asking for cooperation from construction sites and industrial plants to reduce dust emissions in the meantime. And to residents in Bangkok, please wear face masks when going outside.”

Well, we hope the haze problem will not worsen in Bangkok and hopefully, it can be dealt with as soon as possible. On that note, Malaysians who wish to visit Bangkok during this time may want to take extra precautions – like wearing a mask – whilst visiting the city. Or even better, you could just reschedule your trip to Bangkok. Stay safe, guys!
