In a post that recently surfaced on The Republic of Bangsar (TROB) Facebook page, a business owner shared a warning for women in the Bangsar area after her disturbing experience with a man who frequently stopped by her shop.

Employees noticed the man repeatedly came to their shop, asking for a facial. However, the staff rejected his request as they do not provide facial services for men. Undeterred, he still visited the store multiple times.

An excerpt from her post reads,

“Lately, we noticed this pervert coming to our shop multiple times claiming he wanted to do a facial, and we rejected him because we don’t do it for men. However, he still kept coming and my CCTV captured him staying at the staircase area of my shop for more than 10 minutes, trying to peep inside. God knows what he is thinking.”

When confronted with his suspicious behaviour, the man explained that he was actually at the store to see a lawyer and that he works in Bangsar. However, the store owners were not convinced by this excuse and called the police.

“When the police came, he kept saying sorry and asked us to forgive him, which I did not buy at all. I wanted to know where his workplace in Bangsar was, since he claimed to be working here, but he was unable to answer me,” the post continued.

Finally, the police escorted the man away from the premises. However, the business owner said that just an hour later, their company phone received a message from him, which said, “You want to catch me, not so easy.”

The man, believed to be named Chow Chee Yeep, has allegedly committed sexual offenses in the past. According to the Borneo Post, in 2013, Chow was fined RM2,000 for trespassing in a women’s toilet at an office in Wisma Cosway in Jalan Raja Chulan.

In July 2017, a man with the same name was fined RM1,000 after he was caught taking photos of a woman’s leg at Pavilion KL. This incident took place in June 2016, according to Free Malaysia Today.

Then, in July 2018, Chow was also fined RM3,500 for insulting the modesty of a 35-year-old woman after he was caught peeking at her while she was breastfeeding her child at the nursing room at The Gardens, Mid Valley, according to the Malay Mail.

Let’s hope the authorities do their best to prevent this man from committing any more crimes. Stay vigilant, everyone!
