It seems like in just a blink of an eye, Chinese New Year will be ending tomorrow (Feb 19), which also means that tomorrow is the last chance for you to get any ang paus! That’s not all, as you gather with your friends and family for Chap Goh Meh (aka the last day of CNY), make sure to look up at the sky and check out the moon.

That’s because not only will there be a full moon tomorrow, but it will also be the largest, brightest, closest full moon that planet earth will experience until 2026, Forbes reports. Also known as a supermoon, on February 19, the moon will be in its exact full phase closer to the time of perigee than any other full moon this year, which is why it is the closest supermoon in 2019.

During this time, the moon is located 356,846km away from earth, which makes it the closest that it will ever be this year. This moon is also called a snow moon and is estimated to be at its fullest at 11.53pm on Feb 19. If there’s only one time you want to see the moon then this is the best time to do it. A super snow moon on the last day of CNY? Sounds awesome!

It has also been reported that this time around, the supermoon will be 14% bigger and 30% brighter than the average full moon and while you may not notice this immediately with your naked eye, this is a rare occurrence so do be prepared!

Let’s hope the weather is fine on Feb 19 so that we can all enjoy admiring the moon!
