Lat tali lat tam pom and suggestive dancing may not always go hand in hand, but it makes a great discussion point for anyone who’s witnessed Panasonic’s K-pop inspired advert.

The video begins with three girls competing with one another to figure out who gets to clean their messy abode. It features exciting dance moves similar to those made famous by Blackpink.

Posted onto its official Facebook page, Panasonic writes, “Oh no! What to do? An unexpected company is coming and the house is a wreck!”

“Don’t know where to start? This Chinese New Year, we want to get all festive ready the #Panasonic way. #LatTalilatTaliTamPom.”

As like any Kpop video, the group representing Panasonic has managed to make #LatTalilatTaliTamPom sound as sexy as Ddu-Du Ddu-Du.

Netizens, however, had mixed responses to the video.

One netizen questioned the logic of Asians dancing around the house with shoes.

He writes, “Shoes in the house, are they even Asians?”

Another questions how the performers were able to vacuum and mop with their shoes on.

“I like how they are promoting the vacuum cleaner/mop while wearing shoes in the house.”

Some even highlighted how the video was sexist.

“Why must it be females doing the house chores? Where are the women’s rights?”

Based on the ad, Panasonic definitely had their eyes set on making 2019 a prosperous year for themselves, to say the least. Despite all the negativity, some were commending Panasonic for their creativity in bringing culture into their advert.

Just don’t try playing lat tali lat tam pom while wearing shoes in the house or your parents might kill you.
