With so much happening in the country and so many changes taking place, Anwar could’ve gone back straight into politics, but he chose to put his family first!

Right after de facto PKR leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was released, he told the press that he would not be returning to politics yet, but would be giving talks at various destinations around the world and spending more time with family.

The past three years of being in prison had robbed him of the freedom to be with his children and to witness his grandchildren growing up, so the first thing he promised them was to treat his nine grandchildren to as much ice cream as they want. Awww, that’s so sweet!

“The first I have to do now that I am free, the first thing I want to do is that I have got to honour my promise to my grandchildren,” he said in an exclusive interview with the Malay Mail.

“I told them I would buy them (all) ice cream, something which was not possible while I was in bars. But now, it certainly is.”

He added that even though he has programmes and events already scheduled for him, he would try his best to stay home and catch up with his family.

“I will spend more time here, but I will also travel to Permatang Pauh, and maybe attend one or two programmes there.”

Anwar then went on to say the sweetest thing!

He said the best thing was the look on his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail’s face when he was officially granted a full pardon.

“The look on her face, the reaction and how she beamed and smile, that is the best (feeling),” Anwar exclaimed.

Omg! Diabetes!

Anwar is such a family man! It’s unfortunate that he lost three years with his family when he was in prison, but nothing is going to stop them from being together now! *Brb crying*
