Four more individuals are joining Najib and Rosmah in the Immigration Department blacklist!

Just hours ago (15 May), Malaysiakini reported that these few gentlemen have been barred from leaving the country. They are:

  1. Former inspector-general of police, Khalid Abu Bakar
  2. Former treasurer-general, Irwan Serigar Abdullah
  3. Former MACC chief, Dzulkifli Ahmad
  4. Attorney-general, Mohamed Apandi Ali

This incident only came to light after Malaysiakini keyed in these guys’ IC numbers in the Immigration Department blacklist check and discovered that all four of them are not listed under the no-restriction category. Oops…

Although we’re still waiting for the government to comment on the ban, netizens have already been speculating that it has something to do with the investigation of the world-famous 1MDB scandal because all four of them were actively involved in the investigation.

Apandi Ali was accused by Tun Mahathir for concealing important evidence of the 1MDB case and thus, he has been put on 30-day unrecorded leave. Irwan Serigar who just got removed from the Ministry of Finance is also the chairman of 1MDB.

Meanwhile, former MACC chief Dzulkifli took over the post from Abu Kasim Mohamed who was actively investigating the 1MDB fiasco. Lastly, Khalid was the inspector-general of police when the 1MDB case took the world by storm. While people are being prosecuted in other countries, no one was arrested in Malaysia, the origin of the problem. How ironic, right?

Anyway, with the new federal government in place, let’s hope that they can recover the lost money to repay our national debt, because RM800 billion is seriously no joke!
