For those of you who have kept up with the latest viral incident that happened between a man and a female FoodPanda delivery rider, it would seem that fair and due justice will be served! The incident, which happened on Monday (18th May 2020) in Puchong, occurred when a misunderstanding led to the 61-year-old man to attack and assault a female FoodPanda rider.
The entire incident was caught on security camera footage and immediately went viral over Malaysia social media, with calls for the man’s arrest after it was seen that he had visibly attacked her repeatedly, even after the rider fell to the ground.
According to Selangor police CID chief SAC Datuk Fadzil Ahmat, the man in question will be charged at the Petaling Jaya Magistrate’s Court today (21st May 2020), according to Axello.net. At this moment, he faces charges under Section 323 for allegedly causing hurt and Section 509 for allegedly making a lewd gesture under the Malaysian Penal Code, according to The Sun.
Two police reports were made over the matter, which has since led to a case being opened for investigation. The police have also refuted claims that they were not investigating the incident after netizens falsely made the accusations online, according to Berita Harian.
