For most of us, ramen is amongst some of our favourite food and there’s just something comforting about a hearty bowl of broth and slurping down those slippery noodles for an awesome umami-packed meal. Nothing beats that delicious umami taste of one of Japan’s most famous noodles that holds a firm place in our hearts, and you probably know where some of the popular ramen places are. However, there are still plenty of ramen joints in Klang Valley that you may have not discovered yet, and we’re here to tell you where they are!
1. Menya Shi-Shi Do
If you’re looking for the authentic Hakata taste from Japan then look no further than Menya Shi-Shi Do, which serves ramen that is made with love. The rich and exquisite broth is boiled for 48 hours for maximum taste while the ramen is cooked to the perfect al-dente texture and has various garnishes to top it off. Plus, they have tsukemen as well if you want to try something other than their staple ramen!

2. Super Ramen
Do you remember Ru Di Fook Noodle Bar that was one of the go-to places a couple of years ago? Well now that they have closed down the noodle bar, they have risen from the ashes and are making a name for themselves as Super Ramen By Ru Di Fook. This new venture was opened not long ago and it’s already a hit with their quirky ramen offerings that are chock-full of ingredients. And if that’s not enough, they also have signature cocktails so you can end the evening on a nice buzz or other food if ramen is not your cup of tea.
Address: 65 G, Jalan Radin Bagus, Sri Petaling, 57000, Kuala Lumpur
Opening Hours: Daily, 11.00am – 3.00pm, 6.00pm – 12.00am
3. Aori Ramen
This one is a little different from the rest, as it’s owned by Big Bang’s very own Seungri, which was one of the pulling factors of the outlet. If you have been to Ichiran in Japan then you would know that their one-person dining style is similar in this ramen joint and is perfect for introverts. However, they also have booths if you are there with your friends. Although the price may be slightly higher than the others on this list, the quality of their ingredients is superb – especially the barbecued marinated pork.
Address: Lot 6.36.00 Level 6 Pavilion Mall, 168, Bukit Bintang Street, 55100 Kuala Lumpur
Opening hours: Daily 10am to 10pm
4. Bari-Uma Ramen
This ramen chain comes all the way from Hiroshima, Japan to set up shop in Malaysia, and one taste of the broth will have you converted to a fan. The name Bari-Uma itself stands for “super” and “tasty” which sounds promising already. They take pride in their ramen and boast a super rich tonkotsu shoyu ramen with high-quality soy sauce for the base of the soup. Their thick-cut flamed chashu is to die for and is their signature dish.
While there isn’t too much variety on their menu, this means that they can put their focus on the things they do best such as making sure their ramen is awesome.

This little ramen joint has been around for quite a few years, and they are known for using the freshest ingredients to make the selection of Japanese food that is sure to delight your tastebuds. It is rather unassuming but once you have a taste of their food, you’ll understand its attraction. Depending on your appetite, you can opt for a half or full portion, and be especially to try their Shoyu Ramen with al dente noodles that have the perfect bite.

6. Mitsuyado Seimen
You probably already have it ingrained in your head that ramen equals to a flavourful, boiling bowl of soup noodles but tsukemen is also part of this culture! Bringing the flavours of Japan to The Starling Mall, this ramen shop serves up their signature dipping noodles with tasty chashu and yuzu broth that’s just heavenly.
