A video has been making its rounds online, showing a man recording his car with an arrow lodged in it.

Sinar Harian reported that the 57-year-old man’s car was struck by the arrow while driving along Jalan Macalister in Penang on August 13.

The victim was driving from Ayer Itam towards Jalan Pangkor when he suddenly noticed an arrow had pierced through the right rear door of his car.

Northeast District Police Chief ACP Abdul Rozak Muhammad said the arrow is believed to have come from an archery practice at a nearby school field, which can also be seen in the video.

Thankfully, the driver wasn’t injured, and he has since lodged a police report.

“The public is advised not to make any speculations”

Abdul Rozak added that checks found the archery training, organised by the Penang State Sports Council (MSN), was stopped on August 14, a day after the incident.

“This matter has also been communicated to the Penang State Sports Council and the Penang State Education Department. The public is advised not to make any speculations that could disrupt the police investigation,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief.
