47yo Man in Johor Sentenced to 2 Years in Jail & Whipping for Inviting His 14yo Daughter to Have Sex

A 47-year-old man today pleaded guilty at the Muar Sessions Court for inviting his 14-year-old daughter to have sex.

The accused, a widower, was accused of committing the offence at around 4pm on Monday (16 June) at a home in Batu Pahat, Johor.

According to the facts of the case, as shared by Harian Metro, the accused, who is self-employed, attempted to solicit sexual acts from his only daughter while they were in his bedroom.

The victim refused the ‘invitation’ and immediately exited her father’s bedroom. She then contacted her aunt, telling her that she was worried that her father would do something bad to her.

The aunt then asked her son to pick the victim from the accused’s home.

Today, the accused was charged under Section 11(1)(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 at the Muar Sessions Court, which prescribes a punishment of up to 3 years in jail upon conviction.

The charge was read together with Section 16 of the same Act, which provided for an additional sentence of up to 5 years in jail and 2 strokes of the rotan due to the relationship of trust between the accused and the victim.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Diyana Najihah Fauzi prosecuted, while the accused was not represented.

After the accused pleaded guilty to the charge, Sessions Court Judge Sayani Mohd Nor sentenced him to 2 years in jail and 2 strokes of the rotan.
