1.ATMA KIRANA @ The National Art Gallery

The National Art Galley is of course home to many incredible local artworks but our first spot on this list is for Malaysian artist, Abdul Shakir’s recent work called ATMA KIRANA which is believed to mean beautiful soul in Sanskrit.

ATMA KIRANA Abdul Shakir’s first digital art installation at the National Art Gallery and runs from August 9th to October 30th, 2023.

This artwork is a mesmerizing fusion of history and modernity, where upcycled LED panels are transformed into a colorful canvas that at it’s core was inspired by Malaysia’s diverse heritage as well as the Rukun Negara. 

It’s an experience you won’t want to mis plus you get to see other great art at the gallery as well!?✨

2. Digital Art Gallery

Explore “MY WORDS WON(T) CHANGE THE WORLD,” a digital art exhibition that celebrates the power of words through art, inspired by Patrizia Cavalli’s poetry collection, ‘My Poems Won’t Change the World’.

As you walk through, you’ll become a reader, discovering the diverse visual perspectives of language. Video-mapping transforms walls into immersive canvases filled with letters, words, and phrases.

This exhibition combines motion, sound design, graphic art, and typography to showcase words as a unique art form. It features talented individuals and collectives who explore the meaning and significance of language in their creative work.

3. REXPERIENCE

In its 8,800 square foot former cinema hall, REXPERIENCE creates immersive experiences using enthralling audiovisual, motion capture, and sensor technologies, enhancing REXKL’s wide panoramic space of art and culture.

There are 3 main parts of the exhibition which includes a live audio-visual dance show. It’s no doubt that REX KL is once again upping the city’s art scene and shining as the cultural hub that it has reinvented itself to over the years.

4. Museum of Illusions KL

Last on our list is the Museum of Illusions located at ANSA Hotels. It’s a fascinating, visually appealing, auditorily engaging, and informative experience that features both well-known illusions and a wide variety of mind tricks you’ve probably never experienced like this before.
