A heartbroken 30-year-old woman and her 4-year-old daughter were found dead in the bedroom at her house in Kedah.

The woman left a note before she took her own life and the life of her daughter. Her 7-year-old son, however, survived.

The discovery was made by their neighbour, who heard the screams of the 7-year-old son. The neighbour looked through the window and saw the body of the woman.

The police received a report about the incident last night (4 November) at 11:05 PM.

“They have no one else, so I’m taking them with me”

Kulim district Police Chief, Superintendent Zulkifli Azizan, said that the police also found the note left by the woman, who expressed her heartbreak after finding out that her boyfriend had cheated on her.

In her note, the woman apologised to everyone, saying that she couldn’t bear the heartbreak and planned to take her children along with her.

“They can’t live with anyone else. I have no choice but to take them with me,” she penned in her note, as revealed by Zulkifli.

Her 7-year-old son survived

According to Zulkifli, the 7-year-old son escaped her mother’s clutches after the cloth tie around his neck came off when he was pushed down an aluminium ladder by his mother. He said the neighbour then immediately contacted the police and asked the victim to open the door of the house, which was locked from the inside.

“Further inspection found that there were no signs of a break-in or elements of trespassing at the scene of the incident.”

“The two bodies were sent to the Forensic Department of the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) in Alor Setar for a post-mortem,” Zulkifli said, reported Harian Metro.

The seven-year-old son, who survived, suffered abrasions to his neck and pain in his jaw and is currently receiving treatment at Kulim Hospital. The police also found the identification cards of the children and the deceased’s automated teller machine (ATM) card, which was placed nearby.

The case is being investigated under Sections 302 and 307 of the Penal Code for murder and attempted murder, respectively.
