Last Thursday (December 21), over 1,000 members and officers of the General Operations Force (PGA) surrounded ‘mini Dhaka’ at Jalan Silang in Pudu.

Fully armed security forces and special equipment were seen entering each premise involving four blocks in the area, and the operation began at 11 am to raid the site, which is filled with undocumented foreigners.

A total of 1,101 immigrants were detained following the raid, and the authorities seized 100 cartons of cigarettes worth RM22,000, 90 cartons of alcoholic drinks worth RM48,000, and unapproved medicines worth RM34,530.

Now, it has been reported that the police have arrested 3 policemen on suspicion of stealing RM85,000 from a premise during that very raid in Lebuh Pudu.

In a statement, city police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid said the police had received a report regarding stolen cash amounting to RM85,000 at 12:36 am on December 22.

“Investigation by the police to detain 3 police personnel aged between 26 to 35 years old who are suspected to be involved in the stolen cash. The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code, where all detained individuals will be remanded for 4 days from Dec 23 to Dec 26.”

Allaudeen also urged the public not to make any speculation on the case as investigations are still ongoing.

“This case is still under investigation, and the public is also urged not to make any speculations that could disrupt the investigation or cause public concern,” he added.
