A 28-year-old man, working as a security guard, pleaded not guilty in court after being accused of raping a minor and causing her to become pregnant.
Muhammad Zainuddin Zahir, who was previously sent to Henry Gurney School for raping a minor, is now facing the same charges. He was brought before the Sessions Court on December 15 and charged under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code.
The student is 5 months pregnant
According to Harian Metro, the charges say he is accused of raping a 15-year-old student at a house in Batu Pahat between 12:30 AM and 1:30 AM in mid-June.
Reports say the police were alerted earlier this month by Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital (HSNI), which informed them that the student was 5 months pregnant.
It was also found that the accused had 2 cases of rape in 2012 and 2014, for which he was given a good behaviour bond sentence and sent to Henry Gurney School.
The accused has a criminal history in 2013
In addition to the current charges, the accused also has a criminal history dating back to 2013, when he was convicted of burglary and vehicle theft.
The prosecution was led by Deputy Public Prosecutor Diyana Najihah Muhamed Fauzi, while the accused wasn’t represented by a lawyer.
The court granted the prosecution’s request to deny bail and set January 15 for the submission of documents and the appointment of a lawyer for the accused.
