The chief of Jitra Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), Senior Assistant Fire Superintendent Noor Azhar Tajudin, later confirmed receiving a call about the fire at around 1:05 AM, according to Berita Harian.
“The Kedah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Centre got a call about a car fire at the location and immediately sent BBP Jitra to the scene.
“When they arrived, the fire involved a Honda Civic FD, which was already fully engulfed in flames,” he explained.
Noor Azhar, along with seven BBP Jitra personnel, rushed to the scene shortly after, assisted by five members from the Seberang Nyonya Volunteer Fire Brigade (PBS).

The two victims were found burned to death
Noor Azhar said the fire caused about 85% damage, and two victims were found burned to death inside the car.
He added that the fire was brought under control at 1:23 AM, and the team had to cut open the vehicle to remove the victims. The operation also involved the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Ministry of Health (MOH).
“The identities of the two victims are still unknown. They were later handed over to the police for further action,” he said.
