The 18-year-old Honda Jazz driver who caused the death of two students after running the red light in Seremban has no driver’s license, PDRM confirmed.

The incident took place at Jalan Persiaran Senawang 1, Seremban, on March 6, where the students aged 15 and 16 were hit by the driver who ran the red light.

At the time of writing (March 8), the police have yet to take the driver’s statement as he is still receiving treatment in the ICU after sustaining serious injury, reported Kosmo.

The 17-year-old passenger in the car is also seriously injured.

Seremban Chief Police, Mohammad Hatta Che Din, said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Initial investigations found that the accident occurred when the 18-year-old driver was travelling from Senawang towards Paroi and failed to stop at a red traffic light intersection before crashing into a Modenas Kriss motorcycle carrying both victims, who died due to severe injuries to the head.
