Man on LRT Told to Delete Upskirt Images He Took, RapidKL Says Suspect Is Linked to Another Sexual Offence

A video circulating on Threads and other social media platforms shows a man being confronted by a woman for allegedly taking upskirt photos of another woman.

In the video, the man was told to delete all the photos he had taken, and he appeared to comply as the woman who witnessed the incident watched him delete the images from his device.

The circulating post also urged other women to remain alert to their surroundings, particularly while on trains. RapidKL later responded to the post, requesting further details to investigate the matter.

The suspect is 19 years old and is believed to be linked to another harassment case

In an official statement issued this morning (11 April), RapidKL confirmed that the suspect who allegedly took obscene images of the victim on the train had been apprehended by Prasarana’s auxiliary police less than 24 hours after a report was lodged. According to RapidKL, the suspect is a 19-year-old foreign national and was accused of committing the offence on Wednesday (8 April) along the LRT Kelana Jaya Line.

The suspect is also believed to have committed another sexual offence at the Kuchai MRT station on the Putrajaya Line.

RapidKL added that the suspect was subsequently handed over to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) at the Sri Petaling Police Station.

 

In its statement, RapidKL also urged all passengers to immediately lodge a report with auxiliary police if they encounter or witness any form of harassment.
