Two teenagers have been arrested for allegedly taking part in a gang robbery that involved assault and the gang rape of a couple at an oil palm plantation in Pagoh, Johor.
Muar District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz, said police received a report from the victims, both in their 20s, around 7 PM on Tuesday (July 8), according to Sinar Harian.

Acting on the information received, a team from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Muar District Police Headquarters (IPD) arrested the two suspects, aged 17 and 20, in separate operations in Bakri and Bukit Pasir around 4 AM on Wednesday (July 9).
The case is being investigated under Section 375B of the Penal Code for gang rape, which carries a prison sentence of not less than 10 years and not more than 30 years.
In addition, the case is also being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code for robbery causing injury, which carries a jail term of up to 20 years, and may also include a fine or whipping.

“We urge the public not to speculate”
Raiz Mukhliz added that both suspects have been remanded starting Wednesday, the 20-year-old for five days and the 17-year-old for three days.
He also urged the public not to speculate on the case, as it could lead to unnecessary concern and public unrest.
