What a horrific thing to happen to a young teenager!

Just yesterday (15th January), a 15-year-old boy, identified as S. Sathiwaran, returned home to his apartment building in Pantai Dalam after going grocery shopping with his mother at around 8.30pm.

However, just as they were about to walk into their block, a blue office chair suddenly fell from above and struck the young boy with so much force, he sustained severe injuries and died at the scene, according to the New Straits Times.

The office chair was believed to have been thrown from one of the upper floors of the apartment building, according to Brickfields police chief Assistant Commissioner Ruslan Khalid.

The police chief then said that the boy’s mother was lucky to not have been hit by the chair.

The tragic incident is currently being investigated by police under Section 304 A of the Penal Code for causing death by negligence.

We can’t fathom how the life of someone so young can be taken away in just a second. Our condolences go out to Sathiwaran’s family and friends, and hope that whoever is responsible for this is caught as soon as possible.
