We are now on the 29th day of the MCO and all of us know by now that we should JUST STAY AT HOME. Be it as it may, there are infuriating people who move around unnecessarily just for their own selfish reasons!

According to Harian Metro, the police have arrested 11 individuals in a homestay located in Masai, Johor in a raid. The 11 individuals ranging from 15 to 23 years old consist of eight males and three females. The raid happened at 12.45 midnight and at the vicinity, they have found 2.08 grams of ketamine and 4 ecstasy pills.

From the 11 individuals, ten of them tested positive for drugs. The three women all tested positive for ketamine and also methamphetamine. Initial investigations show that none of these people actually owned the house and they have all failed to give good reasons for why they were there.

After the police officers ran a check on them, they found out that three of the suspects there had past criminal records featuring drugs. The suspects will be detained for three days and they will be investigated under Section 12(2) Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. They will also be charged according to Rule 11 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 2020.

The Johor Chief Police expressed his disappointment and said,

“The results of this raid shows that there are still people out there who are stubborn, selfish and purposely ignore the MCO.

We would like to tell people that if they flout the MCO, actions will definitely be taken.”

Let’s all stay home so that the MCO will not be extended and the chain of infection can be broken!
