Recently, it was reported that a schoolboy from Penang was in critical condition after he had apparently choked on an ‘eyeball’ gummy candy, and was not showing signs of improvement following treatment at the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit of the Penang Hospital (HPP)

“The doctor told us that if he does not respond by this Friday (February 21), all medications will be stopped. We’re surrendering this to Allah SWT and leaving the treatments to the hospital,” the boy’s aunt shared.

The boy has passed away

According to a report by Harian Metro, 10-year-old Mohamad Fahmi Hafiz Mohamad Fakhruddin’s death was confirmed by his aunt, 33-year-old Siti Farhani Mohamad Fikri.

“Fahmi breathed his last (breath) at about 11pm earlier (February 20). He died while receiving treatment at the Penang Hospital,” she said.

His body is expected to be taken back to his grandmother’s house in Permatang Binjai and is expected to be buried this morning (February 21).

Our sincerest condolences to the boy’s family and loved ones.
