Local production can be just as good as foreign films. It doesn’t have to be a comic book movie as long as the plot intrigues the audience and keeps them at the edge of their seats with the twists and turns.

Sheriff: Narko Integriti is a Malaysian action-thriller flick that was released in local cinemas on Thursday (April 18). In just two days, the movie has brought in a whopping RM6.4 million in box office sales! GSC Cinemas shared the figure on its Facebook page today, and just yesterday (April 19), GSC also revealed that Sheriff made RM1 million in just one day!

The general review of the movie has been overwhelmingly positive so far, with audiences dubbing the director, Syafiq Yusoff the “King of plot twists”.

With the movie fresh out of the oven and given the availability of time slots available during the weekend, Sheriff is expected to gain more in box office sales in the coming days and weeks.

In 2022, Mat Kilau made over RM97 million in 40 days, and in 2023, Polis Evo 3 made RM54 million over an RM6 million budget. Will Sheriff surpass Polis Evo 3 and Mat Kilau in box office sales?

Sheriff: Narko Integriti stars Zul Ariffin as the titular character “Sheriffudin Hussein”, and Syafiq Kyle as Nazri the Meth Killer. Elizabeth Tan and Azira Shafinaz also star, with Aaron Aziz playing the villain – Tony Ifrit.
