Roti Canai is one of the most iconic Malaysian dishes and one of the charms of the culinary treat is the process of making it.
In fact, some restaurants even use the showmanship of the Roti Canai-making process to attract customers, most notably by tossing the flattened dough around in a theatrical way.
However, not all of these ‘flying’ Roti Canai end up exactly as planned, as showcased by this viral video.
Shared by @abgmadroticanai on TikTok, the video shows a young Roti Canai maker trying to show off his Roti Canai-making skills by tossing it around in front of a customer.
However, it seems that the flying Roti Canai has a mind of its own as it ended up landing on top of a toddler’s head.
The young Roti Canai apprentice then immediately and cutely apologised to the toddler and the entire family.

The young boy, known as ‘Adik Terbang’ is the star of the TikTok account and regularly shows off his skills at Warung Abg Mad Roti Canai in Manjung Perak. The video itself has more than 974,000 views and over 56,800 likes as of the time of writing.
In the video’s comments section, many netizens were amused by what has transpired and even though he failed this time, many were awed by Adik Terbang’s Roti Canai-making skills as shown in the account’s other videos.
As for the dough landing on the toddler’s head, one commenter said that he is impressed by Adik Terbang’s manners, especially how he immediately apologised to the toddler and the whole family.
Another commenter shared the same sentiment, saying that Adik Terbang is really polite and is even good with toddlers as seen by how he expertly calmed the toddler down.
Besides that, one commenter said that the incident would be a sweet memory for Adik Terbang as he grows and refines his Roti Canai skills.
