Poor postpartum care may result in severe and sometimes life-threatening health complications.
Recently, a young mother in Indonesia died while participating in a gunny sack race.
Although it is unknown what the cause of death was, it is reported that the victim had just given birth to a 2-month-old child, which could have impacted her health negatively.
In the viral video on social media, the young mother could be seen energetically hopping in the race to enthusiastic cheers from villagers.
The initial atmosphere was lively until tragedy struck. As the victim was finishing the gunny sack race, she suddenly fell to the ground.
The 29-year-old victim named Rini seemed to have lost her balance, causing her to knock her head and face on the asphalt.
As she lay motionless on the ground, heaving, the surrounding villagers started to panic and rushed to her aid.
However, Rini had lost consciousness and eventually breathed her last breath while on the way to a clinic.
According to the victim’s family, the victim has a history of high blood pressure and often experiences muscle cramps.
The victim’s family did not demand anything and accepted this as fate with an open heart.
