Running doesn’t always have to mean chasing a PB or trying to beat everyone to the finish line. It can be about moving at your own pace, getting some fresh air, catching up with your girlfriends, and simply making time for yourself.

Girlies, come join the guardian KL Women Running Festival (KLWRF) 2026 on 18 October at Dataran Merdeka!

KLWRF is all about creating a space where women can move, connect, and celebrate themselves, whether they’re experienced runners, first-timers, or just looking for a fun day out with the girls.

Ladies, this is your excuse to finally put those running shoes to good use, so grab your girls, lace up those sneakers, and get ready for a fun day out. Here’s the lowdown on KLWRF:

Find your running sweet spot with other women

At KLWRF, you can choose between 5KM, 10KM and 15KM, with all categories open to women aged 16 and above.

Pick the one that feels right for you, whether you’re looking for a fun morning run, a little personal challenge, or something you can tackle with your besties.

Plus, you’ll have a few keepsakes to take home. Every participant receives:

  • 👕 Event T-shirt
  • 🎽 Race bib
  • 🥇 Finisher necklace for participants who finish within the cut-off time
  • 📜 E-certificate available for download after the event

Ready to pick your distance? You can register for KLWRF via HeyJom here.

There’s more than just the run

You’re definitely not expected to run 5, 10 or 15KM and immediately call it a day. KLWRF’s Race Village is set to bring even more fun to the day, with plenty happening before and after the run.

Whether you want to stretch it out, get your groove on, or wander around and see what’s happening, there’s something to keep you occupied. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Pre-run warm-ups to get you moving
  • Yoga for a little stretch and reset
  • Dance fitness and Zumba if you prefer your workout with some music
  • Live entertainment and music to keep the energy going
  • Wellness, beauty and lifestyle booths to explore
  • Instagramworthy photo zones for those post-run snaps

And the best part? You don’t have to be a participant to check it out. The Race Village is open to the public, so you can come along with your friends and soak up the atmosphere even if you’re not running.

No need to be a “runner” to join

Launchgimmick Klwrf

If the thought of signing up for a running event usually comes with questions like “But I’m not a runner…” or “What if everyone is faster than me?”, KLWRF might be exactly the kind of event to change your mind.

As the first-ever KL Women Running Festival, KLWRF is all about creating a space just for women to come together through movement, wellness, and community. It’s less about competition and more about cheering each other on, and celebrating that little bit of girl power.

Maybe you’re a regular runner. Maybe you haven’t run in years. Whatever your pace, KLWRF is designed to be a space where you can show up, get moving, and have a good time without feeling like you need to prove anything. So, no, you don’t need to be a “real runner”. Just come as you are.

Because wellness looks different for every woman

Priscilla Wu Managing Director Guardian

A good run is great, but looking after yourself doesn’t stop when you take off your sneakers. As Priscilla Wu, Managing Director of guardian Malaysia and Brunei, puts it:

“At guardian, we believe women’s wellness is about more than simply looking after our health. It is about having the confidence, knowledge and support to live healthier and more fulfilling lives at every stage.”

The festival is part of guardian’s wider Embracing Midlife Wellness initiative, which aims to help women better understand and navigate the changes that can come with midlife.

Patricia Tan Ceo Score Sports

But at its core, KLWRF is also about making wellness feel less intimidating. Patricia Tan, CEO of SCORE Sports Management, said:

“We knew we didn’t want to create just another race. We wanted women to come without feeling that they needed to be experienced runners or run at a certain pace to belong.”

Ready to join the movement?

Okay girlies, time to make it official. Mark your calendars for 18 October, because guardian KL Women Running Festival 2026 is taking over Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur!

With just 8,000 slots available, registration closes on 20 September 2026 or once all slots are filled. So, don’t leave it to the last minute — pick your distance and secure your spot here.
