When an influencer doesn’t get paid for their work and publicly calls out the brand on TikTok, things can quickly go viral.
Doing just that, influencer @adzimhariz, also known as Mat Never Zero, went onto the social media platform, slamming this pickleball brand for not keeping their side of the bargain.
“Do you remember my pickleball video a while back? On TikTok, the engagement I got was 2.2 million; on IG, 842,000. In total, I got 3.3 million engagements, and this client had the cheek to say that despite the numbers given, the video was a failure because it drove zero sales,” he shared.
“Since they concluded that it was a failed video, they wanted to make adjustments on their payment because they did not generate any sales out of the video. Do you understand their logic?”
He continued, “In their mind, this 1-minute video does not require any effort from my part. Don’t they know that the videos I make require hours of brainstorming and hiring talents to direct…? All these things take time, and they tell me that they are able to only pay 60% of the agreed amount.”

He stated that the brand told him that the video has good engagement but generated zero sales.
“I even voluntarily put their product on TikTok Shop, but it still defeats the intended purpose at the beginning of production. They even requested to put in my promo code, and I did all that without charging them. As a content creator that creates videos, when I showed you my script, you should have had an idea of the direction I’m aiming for.”
“If your aim was to increase sales, then I would have created a video focused on hard-selling…but I don’t do that! If it was a hard-sell video, the engagement would have dropped,” he said.
Adzim explained that with every job that he received, there are three things that he would do – deal with the pricing of the content, understand the product’s unique selling point and provide the script for the client’s approval, as well as provide the client with the end product before posting.

“I asked them for my payment at first, but they chose to delay it. Then came a long message wanting to pay me only half of the agreed payment,” he said.
“They have delayed my payment for quite some time before posting this video. Where is your professionalism? In my mind, I want to sue them for not holding up their part of the agreement.”
He added that his intention for the video was to serve as proof when making his claims with the authorities.
