NO ONE SHOULD BE WORKING WHEN THEY’RE ON THEIR SICK LEAVE!

Due to the fluctuating number of Covid-19 cases, MITI announced that the Work From Home policy will still be enforced with 30% of the management staff going to the office while the attendance of the operations/supporting staff is up to the employer’s discretion.

Working from home definitely comes with its own set of challenges including never actually logging off work. The same can be said for this employer who expected his employee to work while they’re on sick leave just because they were “working from home”.

The boss messaged the employee asking to complete a task to which the employee said that they would not be able to do it as they are on MC today. The employee even requested if the task can be done the next day.

“Please complete by today, thanks. WFH now so your laptop should be with you right?”

Besides the obvious ignorance of the employee’s sick leave, the employer also assumed that the employee should be working just because they’re all working from home. The interaction that was posted on the Facebook group Boom Go Employee went viral, garnering almost 900 shares at the time of writing.

Facebook users couldn’t help but relate to this situation as they’ve also faced it with their employers. One user even reminded the public to make your health a priority as your company won’t hesitate to replace you if something were to happen.
