After braving three hours of heavy traffic, a married Malaysian couple finally arrived at their hometown for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations. However, the husband found himself unable to relax after his wife made a shocking discovery:

She had forgotten to pack her cosmetics.

The ultimate festive dilemma

In a viral post on Threads, the man sought “spiritual support” while weighing up two unenviable options. He could either spend another six hours on the road (three hours each way) to retrieve the forgotten products or spend RM300 on a brand-new set, an alternative he suspected would make his wife much happier.

While helping his wife iron her hijab, the man received an overwhelming wave of advice from netizens urging him to choose the latter. The consensus was clear: “Happy wife, happy life.”

Advice from a national icon

The post even caught the eye of the legendary Malaysian singer, Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza. She suggested he buy the new makeup as a special Raya gift, noting:

“The best form of charity is that which is given to one’s wife and family. God willing, your blessings will be multiplied.”

Other social media users pointed out that he was getting off lightly, with one remarking that he was lucky a full replacement set only cost RM300.

Others offered a more budget-friendly perspective, with a practical commenter suggesting, “Just get a new set at the pharmacy. You don’t even need to spend over RM50. As long as she looks good, why not?”

A happy resolution

In a follow-up post today (18 March), the man revealed that after a “deep talk” with his wife, the pair decided to head to a local pharmacy to purchase a fresh set of cosmetics.

For those travelling during the festive season, this serves as a timely reminder to use a checklist and double-check your belongings before hitting the road.
