A Malaysian woman recently shared a heart-warming story of how a kind restaurant manager allowed her and her friends to break their fast in a non-Halal restaurant’s waiting area after finding all Halal establishments fully booked.

Taking to her Facebook page, Anna Pettire recounted their search for a place to buka puasa while at Suria KLCC, only to discover that every Halal restaurant was packed. However, the manager of a non-Halal outlet noticed their predicament and decided to step in.

A gesture of kindness at Suria KLCC

She wrote: “There were no seats left for iftar at Suria KLCC, until one kind manager noticed us. Our meeting had dragged on until just before maghrib. By the time we went looking for food to break our fast, almost every place with JAKIM certification was full.”

“Then, the Chinese manager of one restaurant noticed our anxiety and offered a simple solution: buy takeaway food from a Halal restaurant, then break our fast at the side of his restaurant, where there are usually a few seats for waiting customers,” Anna added.

“He even offered to bring out a shelf trolley for us to use as a table. So, that’s what we did. We broke our fast on the walkway at Suria KLCC.”

A small gesture with a big impact

Anna went on to explain how the manager consistently checked in to ensure they were comfortable.

“Throughout our meal, the manager kept coming out to check on us from a distance, just to make sure everything was okay. It was a small gesture, but one we truly appreciated,” she added.
