Yesterday, 10 June, was a historic moment for students who sat for their SPM in 2020 as their results were finally released after months of waiting.
As expected, social media was flooded with posts by students as many filmed themselves taking a look at their results for the first time with their family and loved ones.
One of the videos posted by a student, Haqimi Adli (@haqimiadlii), stood out as he filmed the reaction of his father who found out that Haqimi achieved straight A’s!

In the video, Haqimi revealed that he received straight A’s. His proud father immediately kissed Haiqimi on the cheek before holding back tears of joy. According to Haqimi, he only realised his father got emotional when he rewatched the video afterwards.
Haqimi’s video garnered over 625,000 views, 127,000 likes, 2,100 shares and 3,000 comments!
“Studying during a pandemic was really difficult”
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Haqimi explained that he did not expect to achieve straight A’s as preparing for the exam during a pandemic was a big struggle.
“It was really hard because online learning is not as efficient as face-to-face learning. The absence of teachers made it harder for me to ask questions and get clear answers for some topics that I didn’t understand.
“Plus, being in the comfort of my own home tends to make me lazy. I overcame these challenges by planning my schedule ahead using the application ‘NOTION’ and stopped procrastinating,” Haqimi told WORLD OF BUZZ.
“What motivated me, even more, is my parents because I wanted to make them happy. I come from a middle-class family so I want to help them more in the future. My parents are supportive and they motivate me to do better.
Seeing them shed their happy tears because of my results was the greatest gift for me.”
When asked about his father’s reaction, Haqimi said, “He did not expect me to get straight A’s but he always believed in me.”
“I still have a long way to go”
Haiqimi told WORLD OF BUZZ that he still has a long way to go but will continue to give his best for the sake of his parent’s happiness.
“I’m just hoping to further my studies at a local university and become a medical doctor one day. It is my dream to help people, especially looking at this time during the pandemic,” Haqimi said.
We wish you all the best in your future endeavors, Haqimi.
To all SPM 2020 students, congratulations!
