A 22-year-old man who suffered a seizure while driving is believed to have caused a frightening incident at Kea Farm when his car plowed into a group of tourists.
Cameron Highlands District Police Chief, Superintendent Azri Ramli, said the incident occurred around 12 noon when a Perodua Myvi, traveling from Brinchang to Kea Farm in Cameron Highlands, veered off the road and crashed into pedestrians shopping in the crowded area.
“Due to the seizure, the car swerved onto the left shoulder of the road and hit four pedestrians, one adult and three children aged between three and ten,” he said.
All the victims sustained minor injuries and were treated at the hospital before being discharged.
According to Azri, the driver had no prior traffic summonses, tested negative for drugs and alcohol, but was confirmed to have a history of epilepsy.
“The police have issued a summons to the driver in accordance with existing traffic laws.”
Meanwhile, Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman stated that all victims were sent to the Sultannah Hajjah Kalsom Hospital in Cameron Highlands for treatment.
“All the pedestrian victims received treatment and were allowed to return home by the attending doctor,” he said.
