Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the victim’s body was found 150 metres from the accident site.

He added that the case has been reclassified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Yesterday, footage of the accident went viral after the pedestrian went missing in the river after being hit by the car in an accident on Jalan Ipoh heading towards Bulatan Kepong.

The incident, which occurred at around 11:45 am, involved a Nissan Sylphy driven by a 39-year-old Bangladeshi man.

The car is believed to have gone out of control and was seen colliding with the front of a Toyota Camry driven by a Vietnamese woman before hitting the pedestrian and eventually plunging off the bridge and becoming wedged between concrete structures and an iron pipeline.

The driver of the Nissan sustained injuries and was taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for further treatment.

“Further investigation revealed that the car driven by the foreign national does not belong to him,” shared Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa.

“Police are in the process of locating the actual owner of the vehicle for further action. The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. The Bangladeshi man has been detained for further investigation.”
