Those who enjoy the taste of beef are always looking out to try different types of it such as the wagyu, kobe or hanwoo.

As we were scrolling through Instagram reels, we came across a video by Jorts Kitchen (the cook is known as Jason Ortynski) showing a cube of beef. The video was posted on 1 April.

The short clip started off by saying that beef is illegal in the USA and it’s Malaysian A7 Wagyu which has “crazy marbling”.

He continued: “There are only 4 cows in the world, and this bite costs 5,000 dollars (RM22,015).” After frying that up and eating it, he said that it was “worth every penny”.

The cooking influencer then talked more about the beef cube that he ate.

“Thought to have been wiped out, the Malaysian Stroj Ox was re-discovered in 2017 when they found a herd of 4 cattle roaming between the Malaysian & Thailand border.”

Jason elaborated and said that the Thai government tried to claim the cattle for themselves but in the end, Malaysia was victorious in a legal battle. At this point, we’re extremely sceptical as this sounded like a big case that would have been the talk of the town in 2017.

He also touched on why the beef was illegal in the USA as it has “natural therapeutic effects that can last 1 week.”

In the last bit, he mentioned that everything he has said is untrue and was an April’s Fool joke.

Just like us, many netizens fell for it while many others are still oblivious to the fact that it is a crafted story for April’s Fool.

Beef Comments

Well, we certainly would like to taste Malaysian A7 Wagyu if it existed. If you would like to watch the video, you can do so here.
