Looks like this hypermarket needs to beef up its pest control!

Just yesterday (16 July), a netizen took to Facebook to warn members of the public after she spotted a sizeable rat crawling along the bread racks. This incident took place at a famous hypermarket in Setia Alam.

When the netizen confronted one of the staff about the rodent problem, the staff shockingly said that the whole premise has rats, and that it is what it is. Wadya mean by that?!

Here’s the videos that were uploaded on Facebook.

As you can see, the rat crawled from rack to rack and even came into contact with some of the bread packaging. Luckily, the doughnuts at the other end were placed in plastic containers. Phewww…

These videos went viral overnight with more than 12,000 shares at the time of writing. Majority of the netizens were disgusted and put off by the poor pest control of the hypermarket.

However, a few of them said that such situation is unavoidable as it’s hard to eliminate the pests if the workers don’t know where the rodents are coming from. Do you guys think this is a valid excuse?

At the time of writing, the management of the hypermarket has yet to issue an official statement.

You can read the original post with more info here.

Rats working in a kitchen may sound cute, but only in Ratatouille, not in real life. We hope the hypermarket’s management takes this issue seriously as it could potentially harm hundreds of customers.
