Yesterday, we shared the achievement of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) of going up the ranks in the latest Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings to claim a top 100 spot. It also meant that UUM is also the second-best public university in Malaysia, just behind Universiti Malaya (UM).
Well, many other Malaysian higher education institutes made us proud by being featured in the 2023 ranking, including Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP).
Placing an impressive 63rd in the Asia ranking, UTP is now officially the best private university in Malaysia based on the list.
Taking to its official Facebook account, UTP shared the amazing news and extended its heartfelt gratitude to all its shareholders, including Petronas, industry partners, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters.
According to BERNAMA, UTP further asserted that the achievement is a historic milestone for the nation’s higher education. The university also revealed that it leapt 32 spots from last year’s 95th position to its current position in the ranking.
In a statement, UTP vice-chancellor Professor Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib said the accomplishment reflects the university’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, impactful research and innovation, and creating an exceptional student experience as well as continuing to uphold high standards to make a lasting impact in the global academic and research arena.
Awesome! Congratulations UTP for the achievement and let’s hope that our higher education sector continue to flourish further and be one of the best in the world.
